“The Illusion of Time” details Hadley Hammer‘s unlikely entry into the pro-skier world when she entered her first big mountain competition at age 25, and was catapulted to the top of the Freeride World Tour and big mountain spine walls. However, rather than being an overnight success story, Hammer’s talk will look at time‘s role in the adventures both past and current.

Hadley is a professional skier and ski mountaineer, she has appeared in a number of films and she is also a talented writer. Hadley grew up figure skating and Nordic skiing in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She eventually entered a freeskiing competition - she blew it, but she had a lot of fun and wanted to see what her limits were. Three years after that first competition, Hammer was standing on podiums, gaining attention from big name sponsors. A year later she started filming with Teton Gravity Research. Since then her professional career, and her skiing, has skyrocketed. She has been featured in more movies and travelled to far away places like Bolivia, Europe, and the Yukon to seek out big, backcountry lines. Hadley now calls Chamonix, France her home.
